Lost Postgraduation submarine surfaces in Switzerland!

Hello everyone,

I haven’t posted in ages and a postcard from Jerry put me on the right track again.

I’ve finally finished my Military service and I’m so happy. Unfortunately I’m not allowed to tell you anything, because it’s so secret ;)

Actually I spent most of the time on a mountain setting up a system that no one was using, to spy on no one! But I tell you some of the views were amazing! And I had some great times in the sun doing practically next to nothing.

That was my working uniform, except for the beret, which is for special occaisions and for guard duty. Normally I wore a camoflaged cap.

Where all those yellow leaves were in Autumn, are new green leaves and all the trees in our garden are in bloom. Apricot, pear and figtree are all in bloom and the weather has been delightful the last few weeks. Today is rather gloomy, but just the right weather to sit inside and do my taxes. Yay, taxes! NOT. So you see why I’m posting stuff, cos I’m actually distracting myself from doing work.

Next week I’m going on holiday. I’m going to the south of Switzerland  (the Italian speaking part) up in the mountains. The place where I’m going can only be reached by cable car, so there are no cars up there (see pic below). I’m very excited about going!

That was a family photo we took on Saturday. Right now I’m enjoying spending time together with my family again. Yesterday was a traditional Zurich festival so Elisabeth had a day off school, but instead of watching people march in ancient costumes through Zurich we had a meal at a thai restaurant. Made me homesick for Asia :*(

Hope you’re all well, miss you all

Andreas
